Ok well i recently got a belkin router and since it was installed i was not able to get online. I got a code=058 message. It said that my firewall was blocking the ports i need to run the game. Now Port 80 on my firewall is already open seeing as that is the internet. But anyone know how to open port 6112 on a router firewall, any info would be appreciated

That should help. Just go to Forwarding and then find yoru router. It will then ask what application just pick Guild Wars and it will tell you.

Everyone I know who has had this problem has had this problem not because of any specific router settings but because behind their router, on the PC they are trying to play guild wars, they are also running another firewall.

It could be windows firewall, it could be part of norton antivirus, or it could be something else. Before opening/forwarding any ports on your router (which you shouldn't need to do to play guild wars) verify you do not have a firewall running on your computer, and if you are disable it.

Unless you have multiple computers on your local network connected to your router and you fear some might not be safe or secure (at risk of viruses because your idiot kid is trying to download porn, keeps installing crap software or something like that), then there is no need (in my opinion) to be running a second firewall on your computer. The firewall on the router is enough.

Disable the firewall on your computer and I guarantee this problem will be resolved.
